Lou-Ann Joly is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Frauen-Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
Her father was her first coach when she was five years old, and she trained with her older brother’s team.
At 9 years old she moved to her hometown club, Bétheny Formation Club.
She spent over a decade at Stade Reims, joining their youth team in 2011 and staying until 2024.
During her first trial with Reims boys, she beat everyone — including the boys — on a timed slalom course.
She was the first girl to be accepted into the male football environment at Reims. She played in the Reims U15 boys’ team, even became captain.
She made her senior debut at age 16 in the French second division.
In her debut season (2018–19), she helped Stade Reims win the league and secure promotion to France’s top division (D1 Féminine).
She loves early mornings, early breakfasts, and having a steady routine.
She likes to go for walks around the city to explore and unwind.
She started her time in Germany speaking very little English or German which she says made it the beginning very difficult.
