At the age of only four, Maïté joined Mons AC, a club in the North located very close to her home, where she played in a mixed team until she was 15
She began her recorded club career at AC Mons-en-Barœul in 2007, spending nearly nine years with the club before moving to the LOSC Lille academy in 2016.
Her father, Jean-Paul, a former player in Wasquehal and Mouscron, Belgium, is the one who gave her the passion for football.
She has four siblings, her little sister Gabby is also playing football.
Maïté is a big dog lover - hiking with her three dogs - a Husky, a Shepherd and a Spitz, is one of her favourite activities.
She enjoys surfing.
A perfect way for her to unwind is with a sunset view at the beach.
