Michaela-Batya Bisi Abam is a Cameroonian professional footballer who playes as a midfielder. She represents Cameroon on international level.
Abam was born in Houston, Texas, to parents David and Nathalie Abam and holds dual citizenship with Cameroon.
She represented the United States as part of the Under-17 national pool in 2013 before switching her allegiance to Cameroon.
Abam was a standout collegiate athlete at West Virginia University, where she set a school record with 95 appearances and scored 42 career goals.
She holds a degree from West Virginia University where she was also named an NSCAA All-America Second Team honoree in 2016.
Abam is a polyglot who speaks English and has lived and played in four different countries across Europe and North America.
She scored the game-winning goal in the 2016 College Cup semi-final against North Carolina, leading West Virginia to its first-ever NCAA National Championship match.
She made history as the first player from a Houston Dynamo/Dash youth-affiliated club to eventually sign a professional contract with the Houston Dash first team.
