Desiree Mendoza

Mendoza is a dual citizen, born in Costa Mesa, California, to a family with strong sporting roots.

She played four seasons of collegiate soccer for the UC Irvine Anteaters, where she was twice named to the Big West Fall All-Academic Team.

Her father played soccer at the collegiate level, and she grew up with two brothers who also played the sport.

Before pursuing professional football, Mendoza aspired to become an elementary school teacher and majored in Education Science at UC Irvine.

She is a polyglot who speaks both English and Spanish fluently.

Mendoza is a multi-sport fan whose favorite teams include Real Madrid, the New York Yankees, and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Her favorite musician is Justin Bieber, and she lists Grey’s Anatomy as her favorite television show.

She has expressed a personal goal to one day visit Spain and meet personality Kendall Jenner.

Her favorite foods are tacos and grapes, specifically noting a preference for tacos prepared by Marissa LeVine.

During her high school career at Estancia HS, she was named the Orange League MVP after scoring 28 goals in just 15 matches in 2018.

Desiree loves spending time in or around the water.
