Tess LaPlacette is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for French Première Ligue club Les Marseillaises.
She started playing football at school with boys and a few girls, even though no one in her family played football.
Playing with boys at a young age helped build her character, as she had to prove herself before being accepted — later, they even “protected” her like one of their own.
Her childhood idol was Lionel Messi, and she’s still a huge fan today.
Tess joined Olympique de Marseille in July 2014, almost at the very start of the women’s section — making her one of the early faces of OM Féminines.
She has experienced three promotions to D1 (top division) with OM.
Outside of football, she loves spending time with friends and family or exploring Marseille, a city she’s deeply in love with.
She describes her morning mood humorously: she can wake up “on the right or wrong foot” and can’t control that side of herself.
She got a puppy in the summer 2025.
She's a Christian.
