Celia Segura’s name is already history at FC Barcelona. The striker of FC Barcelona B, the second team, arrived at La Masia, as the club’s youth academy is knowns, in style. After her arrival at the team in 2018, she broke the goal record and became Barcelona’s top scorer in youth football after scoring 121 goals in her first season with the team and at just 12 years old.

Celia Segura was also the youngest player to be signed with Barça’s reserve team and has been prowling the elite of football for two years after making her debut, unofficially, in the 2024 preseason. At that time, the Spanish striker travelled with the first team to the preseason tour in the United States and also played in the traditional Joan Gamper Trophy that the club celebrates annually.

Finally, it was not until 2025 when Celia Segura sis does not make her official debut with the first team. It was on February 5 of the same year when Pere Romeu opted for Celia to play as a starter in a match of the semifinals of the Copa Catalunya against AEM Lleida that Barcelona ended up winning 5:0.

Future Queen of Catalonia in the making

Celia set the bar high from a very young age, making history at La Masia and forging herself as one of the greatest promises of the Barça women’s academy. Despite this, she remains focused of her path. The 121 goals do not weigh on her goalscoring record each season and she continues to focus con continuing to do her job every year to, who knows, one day be one of the permanent players in the Barça’s first team.

Since she was a child, she has looked at Leo Messi and also Alex Morgan, a former player for the United States and also for the San Diego Wave, among other teams. Becoming a benchmark in world women’s football, Morgan paved the way for young players like Celia to have role models. In addition, Celia Segura pays a lot of attention to Claudia Pina, a player in the first team of Barcelona and the National Team with whom she shares different qualities as a footballer.

Celia Segura continues to fight to fulfil her dream of playing in the Barça’s first team and to be able to lift many tittles with the club. The 25/26 season has been an example and a motivation for players from the academy who have seen how other teammates such as Aicha Camara or Clara Serrajordi have made a place for themselves in the team and have been able to play in major competitions and tournaments such as the Champions League final in which Barça beat OL Lyonnes 4:0.

Among Celia Segura’s achievements is the Bronze Boot she won at the 2024 U17 World Cup with the Spanish national team, a tournament in which she won the silver medal. In addition, her record also includes three titles in the First Federation, the second division of Spanish women’s football. The last one has been achieved in the season that has just ended in which he has also scored 10 goals.
