From Hoffenheim to the NWSL. Melissa Kösler is taking next step

German forward Melissa Kössler, 25, is leaving TSG Hoffenheim to join a club in the U.S. National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

• She previously played in USA during her studies.
• Hoffenheim has not officially named the U.S. team, but reports link Kössler with the new club Boston Legacy FC as her likely destination in the NWSL.
• In the ongoing 2025/26 Frauen-Bundesliga season, Kössler scored six goals in ten appearances for Hoffenheim before the transfer.

• A product of Turbine Potsdam’s academy, she joined Hoffenheim in 2022 after years in Germany’s top women’s leagues and had previously spent a year in the U.S. college system with UMass Minutewomen.
