Alana Simone Cook is an American professional football player who plays as a center back for the Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League and the United States national team.
She is eligible to represent England through her British father and even trained with the Lionesses in 2019.
She has a degree in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University.
She enjoys cooking, playing the piano and trying new vegan recipes.
She has a dog named Bo.
Growing up, Alana played baseball, softball, basketball, track and field, and football.
In track, she ran the 100m, 200m, 4x400m relay, and threw javelin.
A favorite piece of advice she read is to “come up for air” — meaning take a break even during challenges.
Alana looks up to veteran defender Becky Sauerbrunn for her calm, intelligent defending style.
Her favorite treat is vegan brownies — specifically the edges — from a local bakery.
