Casandra Montero Rodríguez is a Mexican footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. She represents Mexico at the senior international level.
Before becoming a professional footballer, Casandra was a high-level rugby player and represented Mexico in the 2015 Women’s Sevens World Series in Dublin.
She grew up in La Antigua, Veracruz, and played for the amateur team Orizaba Real Tamuin, where she once scored a staggering 41 goals in a single regional tournament.
Her transition to the professional league was a "dream deferred"; she didn't make her Liga MX Femenil debut until age 25 with C.D. Veracruz.
Beyond her playing career, she has experience on the "other side" of the game, having served as part of the technical staff for her amateur club in Orizaba.
She is known for her immense physical stamina, which she attributes to her years of playing rugby at the Tepetlan Rugby Club in Córdoba.
