Cristina del Carmen Ferral Montalván is a Mexican footballer who plays as a center-back. She represents Mexico at the senior international level.
Cristina is one of nine siblings; she grew up in a massive household with brothers Sergio, Mateo, Jonathan, and Daniel, and sisters Eima, Maria, Marcela, and Antonia.
She co-founded "Impulse AC," a foundation dedicated to providing financial and academic support to female student-athletes so they don't have to choose between sports and education.
She is highly academic and completed a Master’s Degree in Finance at the EGADE Business School in Mexico while simultaneously playing professionally.
She earned the nickname "La Emperatriz" (The Empress) due to her commanding presence and leadership style in the defensive line.
In 2018, she made history by becoming the first Mexican player to ever sign with Olympique de Marseille in France.
During her time at the University of South Florida (USF), she was honored as the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
