Natalia Villarreal is a Mexican professional footballer. She has represented Mexico at various international levels, including the FIFA U-17 and U-20 Women's World Cups. Villarreal is recognized as one of the most experienced defensive players in the Mexican league, having been part of the professional circuit since its founding in 2017.
Natalia is a licensed psychologist. She graduated from the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) and often talks about how studying psychology helps her manage the mental pressure of professional football and recover from injuries.
Before moving to Chivas, she won 6 league titles with Tigres UANL, making her one of the most decorated players in the history of Mexican women's football.
Despite being one of the shorter players on the pitch (standing at approximately 157 cm / 5'2"), she is famous for her aggressive defensive style and her ability to win aerial duels against much taller opponents.
She has been part of Liga MX Femenil since its very first season in 2017. She is one of the few players who have played in almost every tournament since the league's inception.
During her childhood in Monterrey, she often played in boys' teams because there were few local options for girls' competitive football at the time.
