Samantha López Archila is a Guatemalan footballer who plays as a center-back. She has represented Guatemala at the senior level and Mexico at the youth international level.
Samantha was born and raised in Santa Ana, California, and holds dual citizenship through her parents' heritage.
In high school at Century High, she was a versatile "tri-athlete," competing in soccer, cross country, and track and field.
She credits her family, specifically her parents Rosa and Jorge, for supporting her throughout her journey from California club soccer to the professional leagues in Mexico.
Although she represented Mexico at the U-20 World Cup, she ultimately chose to represent Guatemala at the senior level, making her debut in 2024.
Samantha is known for her defensive efficiency; in early 2026, she recorded over 100 ball recoveries in just 11 matches for Chivas.
