Lenthe Hardiek is a Dutch footballer who plays as a midfielder. She is one of the most promising young talents to emerge from Excelsior’s own youth system in recent years.
She is a true local product, having played her entire youth career at VV Capelle before joining the Sportclub Excelsior MO20 team in 2022.
Before fully committing to football, Lenthe was a competitive tennis player. She credits her tennis background for her excellent footwork and her ability to "filter out" crowd noise during high-pressure matches in stadiums.
She made a rapid ascent through the club's ranks, serving as the captain of the Excelsior Beloften (Academy) team before being fast-tracked to the senior squad in October 2024.
Her transition to the first team came as a surprise to her; she was officially promoted after impressing Head Coach Mathijs de Groot during Thursday training sessions.
Although she spent most of her youth career playing as a left-back, she has recently been converted into a midfielder, a position she says felt "unfamiliar" at first but has now become her primary role.
