Luana Bertolucci Paixão, known as Luana, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Orlando Pride and the Brazil national team.
Since 2019, Luana has served as the vice-captain of Brazil’s national team.
In April 2024, she announced her diagnosis with Hodgkin Lymphoma and began chemotherapy, completing her final treatment round in October.
She was determined to become a professional soccer player since she was six or seven years old.
Her father was her biggest supporter, taking her to games all over, even to places like Rio Preto and Araraquara.
She started playing soccer with boys until she was 14 years old.
Luana’s passion for football runs in the family, as her father also played.
Growing up, she had limited opportunities to play football, as there weren't many girls' programs available.
She considers her debut for the national team in 2012 as a landmark moment in her career.
She says she loves to sleep, anytime, anywhere.
She misses her family’s tradition of Sunday lunches, where her mother often prepares a variety of pasta dishes.
Despite her busy football schedule, she enjoys cooking, particularly pasta dishes like carbonara, to recreate family memories in her own kitchen.
She loves to travel.
She has suffered an ACL injury at PSG.
