Luisa Palmen is a German footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Frauen-Bundesliga club SGS Essen.
She began playing football as a goalkeeper for the youth team of SC 13 Bad Neuenahr.
In 2018, she was substituted on as an outfield player in a youth match and scored her first goal just 14 minutes later.
After graduating from the Elite School of Sports in Freiburg, she moved to the United States to study and played 11 NCAA Division I matches for the University of Texas at El Paso.
In 2023, she joined Borussia Mönchengladbach, helping them win the Regionalliga West and achieve promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.
She says she enjoys taking penalty kicks because she likes to take responsibility and relieve pressure from her teammates.
She once scored a goal in Austria while playing as a right winger for St. Pölten’s Future League team, showing her enjoyment of playing offensive field positions.
She likes to hike and spend her time outdoors.
