Maureen Cosson is a French professional footballer who plays as a defender for FC Nantes in France’s Division 1 Féminine (Arkema Première Ligue).
In 2025, she served as the marraine (patron) of the Foot’Océane festival, a massive youth football event on the beach in Vendée, France.
Off the pitch, she is passionate about motorbikes and enjoys riding motorcycles.
She captained the ESOF La Roche-sur-Yon women’s team for five years.
She grew up on the island of Noirmoutier and started playing football at age 6, often joining boys at school to kick a ball around.
Until 2023, she balanced football with a full-time job – working as a communications officer by day and training four evenings a week – before earning her first professional contract with Nantes at age 27.
