Ornella María Vignola Cabot is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga F club Granada. She has both Uruguayan and Spanish citizenship.
She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
She moved from Uruguay to Spain at a young age and grew up in Málaga.
She debuted in both Liga F and the UEFA Women's Champions League at 16.
Inspired by her older brother, she began playing football, often starting as a goalkeeper in their backyard games.
She’s called “the Isco of Granada” because, like the Real Betis midfielder, she grew up in Benamiel (Málaga) and shares a similar dribbling style and creativity.
She’s also a standout for Spain’s U23 national team, having previously won the U19 European Championship and U20 World Cup.
She still plays futsal with her brother every Christmas back in Málaga. “He used to always beat me… but now I give him a real challenge,” she jokes.
Her childhood dream was to make a living from football.
She is close friends with Spanish teammate Andrea Medina. They formed a strong friendship from their first youth national team call-up, sharing holidays, frequent visits between their cities.
Her childhood idol was Messi.
Her favorite TV show is Prison Break.
