Hannah Jayne Blundell is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Manchester United in the Women's Super League and the England national team.
She started playing football at the age of seven for a local youth team, Polegate Grasshoppers, where her two brothers also played.
At just nine years old, Blundell was scouted to join the Brighton & Hove Albion Centre of Excellence.
At one point, both Brighton and Chelsea academies considered her too small for top-level football so she eventually joined Charlton Academy and only later returned to Chelsea.
She progressed through Chelsea's Academy, Reserves, and then into the First Team, where she realized football could be her career.
In 2024, she married Tom Pett, who is also a professional footballer, currently for League Two club Cheltenham Town.
Hannah and her husband have a dedicated games room at home, where they enjoy playing video games like Call of Duty.
Her best friend in football is Drew Spence, with whom she grew up in the game and has maintained a friendship for over 12 years.
One of her favorite artists is Chris Brown.
She is a fan of the movie Top Gun: Maverick and was very impressed with it.
Her favorite piece of advice in football is to always work hard, give 100%, and keep a smile on her face because that’s when she plays her best.
She idolized Kelly Smith as a young footballer and eventually got the chance to play against her.
She is a fan of the NFL team Kansas City Chiefs.
