Clare May Wheeler is an Australian professional football player who plays as a midfielder for Women's Super League club Everton and the Australia women's national team.
She discovered football at 10 years-old when a friend started playing.
By 13 years-old she was selected for the state youth league, and by 15 years-old she was playing for the A-League national team, the Newcastle Jets.
She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Commerce.
She worked full time in financial assistance at Macquarie Group after completing her university studies.
When she’s not training, she also works with a number of charities, including Kit Aid in Australia, which redistributes old football kits to communities in need, and her local food bank in the United Kingdom.
She represented Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
