Shanade Hopcroft is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women's Super League club Crystal Palace.
She was spotted at age 9, leading to trials with Chelsea's Centre of Excellence, where she played from ages 9 to 14.
In England, she gained first-team experience with London Bees and Reading before moving to the U.S. to further develop her game.
After initially playing for a junior college team in Florida, Hopcroft moved up to University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
She graduated from Daytona State College with an Associate of Arts Degree.
She also earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
She is the youngest of five children and has 13 nieces and nephews.
Her favorite professional athlete growing up was Ronaldinho.
She scored a bicycle kick goal at UCCS. The goal was also featured on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10, much to Shanade's surprise and excitement — she found out while casually watching TV with a cup of tea.
She is engaged to Grace Neville, professional footballer who plays for London City Lionesses and New Zealand.
She was instrumental in Palace's promotion-winning 2023/24 season.
