Josie Green

She initially joined boys' rugby before transitioning to girls' football.

She first fell in love with football playing in the garden with her dad and brother.

She began her senior football career at Watford F.C. Ladies but left the club in 2016 due to falling out of love with the game.

Ahead of Tottenham’s first season in the Women's Super League in 2019–20, Green signed her first professional football contract.

Although born in England, Green qualifies to play for the Wales national team through her grandfather, who was born in Pontypool.

She took a break from international football after 2014 to focus on her family, particularly to support her father during a time of illness.

She used to juggle teaching full-time with semi-professional football.

She grew up without any female football idols and played on boys' teams.

She loved David Beckham and Teddy Sheringham as a kid.

She made her Wales senior debut at just 16 years old.

She’s planning to start a local football academy for girls.

She has a bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Hertfordshire.

She has earned a UEFA B coaching licence to support player development.

She’s passionate about performance, player growth, yoga, and overall wellness. She is currently doing Yoga Alliance Certification and a PFA course in Emotional Intelligence, Psychology, and Leadership.

Her go-to breakfast: Greek yogurt, chia seeds, oats, maple syrup, raspberries, and blueberries – a consistent and nutritious routine that makes her feel good.

Breathwork is her pre-game superpower – Breathwork before matches or races helps her clear the mind, reduce nerves, and get into a flow state.
