Fuka Tsunoda

Football runs in Fuka’s family: she started playing at the age of six because of her older brother, while her other brother, Ryotaro Tsunoda, also became a professional footballer.

Fuka combines professional football with distance learning at Waseda University’s School of Human Sciences, allowing her to continue her education alongside her playing career.

She remains closely connected to her first football club, Kita-Urawa SSS, and returned for its traditional New Year kickabout to play with young players and share advice with the next generation.

Fuka returned to her former middle school to help pupils plant ten “Reds Rose” bushes as part of a community and environmental project. 

Fuka says her unusual talent is being able to find almost anything she eats delicious, although loud noises are one thing she struggles with.

One of her most unusual hobbies is looking through J.League player directories and learning facts about different footballers.
