Allyson Renee Swaby is a professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Crystal Palace. Born in the United States, she represents Jamaica internationally.

Did You Know?

She began her professional club career in Iceland with third-division team Fjarðab/Höttur/Leiknir in 2018, scoring five goals in just 12 appearances—a rare feat for a defender.
She studied and played collegiate soccer at Boston College from 2014 to 2017, representing the Boston College Eagles for four seasons.
She captained Jamaica for the first time in 2021.
She scored her first international goal against Paraguay in 2022, followed by a crucial goal in Jamaica’s 1–0 World Cup win over Panama in 2023.
Her younger sister, Chantelle Swaby, is also a Jamaican international and plays for Leicester City.
She has deep Jamaican roots, even though she was born and raised in the U.S.—her father is Jamaican-born and her mother is of Jamaican descent via London.
Her path to pro football wasn’t planned. Initially, she thought she’d pursue a traditional career after graduation and wasn’t sure pro soccer was viable.
Her favorite Roman dish is “cacio e pepe,” although she admits loving pizza and carbonara too. She says, “If you talk to me about food, I could go on forever!”
She likes rice and peas—but without the peas. Very un-Jamaican of her, she admits!
She prefers evening over morning and says the one thing she can't live without is her phone.
