Christmas is approaching, the WSL is on its winter break, and the Champions League has finished its regular season. What else has been happening?

We know the playoffs lineup for the Champions League

Barcelona, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Lyon. These are the names of the four best clubs that advanced directly to the quarterfinals after the group stage.

And who will be their opponents? Arsenal will face OH Leuven again, against whom they ended the league phase with a 3-0 win. The winner of that match will face Chelsea. So we can probably expect a London derby in the Champions League.

Manchester United came close to reaching the quarterfinals, but ultimately Atlético Madrid awaits them. Bayern Munich awaits the winner of the two-leg tie. Barcelona, last year's finalist, awaits the winner of the match between Paris FC and Real Madrid. If Real advances, we can look forward to El Clásico in the Champions League.

The last quarterfinalist is Lyon, which will face the winner of the Juventus-Wolfsburg match. Juventus surprised Lyon this year with a 3-0 lead, but Lyon managed to pull off a 3-3 draw. The final will be held on May 23 in Oslo.

Rolfö´s two goals comeback

Manchester United fans were left devastated before the winter break when their team lost 3-0 at home to Tottenham. Spurs were already beginning to celebrate their valuable victory, but Ella Toone scored in the 74th minute.

In the 80th minute, the score was still 3-1 for the visitors, but summer signing Fridolina Rolfö saved the Red Devils' point and pride by scoring twice. The equalizer came in the 94th minute.

Sweden and Denmark handed out awards

For the ninth time in a row, Pernille Harder has been named Denmark's best female footballer. The captain of the national team and once the world's most expensive female footballer celebrated this award with, among other things, an extension of her contract with Bayern Munich until 2028.

In Sweden, on the other hand, Chelsea defender Nathalie Björn won the Diamantbollen for the first time. The 28-year-old Björn is an integral part of Chelsea, with whom she won the domestic treble, and the Swedish national team. She played in the Nations League semi-finals with the national team.
