Another record fee this year is here! Orlando Pride signed Lizbeth Ovalle

First Naomi Girma to Chelsea, then Olivia Smith to Arsenal, and now Lizbeth Ovalle to Orlando Pride. Women’s football is on the rise, and this year’s third record-breaking transfer fee for a player proves it.

  • Orlando Pride completed a world-record transfer to acquire Mexican forward Lizbeth Jacqueline Ovalle from Tigres UANL for $1.5 million, surpassing the previous women's football record of $1.3 million set by Olivia Smith's move to Arsenal.
  • Ovalle, nicknamed “La Maga” ("The Magician"), is the all-time leading scorer for Tigres, tallying 136 goals and 103 assists in 294 appearances, and has won six Liga MX Femenil titles.
  • Internationally, the 25-year-old forward has represented Mexico 81 times, scoring 20 goals, and contributed to gold at the 2023 Pan American Games.
  • Her contract with Orlando Pride runs through 2027, with a mutual option to extend through 2028.
