Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper is staying put. Despite the club letting several players leave over the summer (such as Fridolina Rolfö or Jana Fernendez), Cata Coll has extended her contract until at least 2029.
- The signing was formalised in a ceremony attended by important club figures including President Joan Laporta, board member for the women’s team Xavier Puig, and women’s sporting director Marc Vivés.
- At 24 years old, Coll is now more than a rising talent — she is established as one of the world’s top goalkeepers and fully embodies Barcelona’s style: confident with her feet, aggressive in attack build-up, and decisive when called upon.
- Since becoming undisputed starter (after Sandra Paños left in summer 2024), she’s appeared in 40 matches across all competitions in the previous season, and has already played five matches so far in the current season.
- Coll’s record at Barça: 95 appearances, with 61 clean sheets (i.e. more than 50% of matches she’s played), conceding only 39 goals in that time.
- In her time at the club she has already won 17 trophies, including three Champions League titles, five Liga titles, four Copas de la Reina, and five Spanish Super Cups. Over the next three years she will aim to add to that trophy haul.
