Five goals and a red card. Sweden remains undefeated and goes into the quarterfinals from the top spot
Sweden secured all nine points, earning first place. Germany, despite the loss 4:1, progressed as runners-up.
Germany take early lead via Jule Brand in seventh minute. The German winger opened scoring through a well-taken goal, giving hope before Sweden’s resurgence.
Sweden respond emphatically. Stina Blackstenius equalised in the 12th minute. Only 18 years old Smilla Holmberg put Sweden ahead with a fortunate 25th-minute strike. In the 32nd minute, Carlotta Wamser of Germany was red-carded for deliberately handling in the box, and Fridolina Rolfo calmly converted the resulting penalty—also marking her landmark 100th cap.
Sweden will face the Group D runners-up in Zurich, while Germany will take on the Group D winners in Basel in the quarter-finals.
