The owner of OL Lyoness, Washington Spirit, and London City Lionesses clubs is taking another step to help women in football.
- U.S. Soccer has launched the Kang Women’s Institute, a first-of-its-kind national center dedicated to transforming health, performance, and research in the women’s game, funded by entrepreneur and club owner Michele Kang.
- The institute’s mission is to close long-standing knowledge gaps in women’s sports science — addressing issues such as ACL injuries, menstrual-cycle-informed training, recovery models, and data standards that have historically been based on men’s physiology.
- The initiative is designed to support players from youth to senior levels, making evidence-based practices and medical care accessible throughout the entire U.S. women’s soccer pathway.
