Anna Brændstrup

Football entered Brændstrup's life early, she started playing around the age of five or six, beginning at Taastrup FC before playing alongside boys because she enjoyed the greater pace and intensity.

She came through three notable Danish academies: her youth pathway included Brøndby, FC Nordsjælland and HB Køge.

Portugal gave her a fresh start, after finding first-team opportunities limited at HB Køge, Brændstrup moved abroad and described playing regularly for Gil Vicente as bringing back her energy and confidence.

Brændstrup represents the Faroe Islands through her mother's side: she has ambitions of becoming a regular starter for the senior national team.

Her favourite career memory is a cup final.

Her favourite foods are Thai and Italian.
