Aaquist Olsen moved away from her family home at just 16 to continue her football development in Kolding, while her parents remained on Zealand.

The move meant starting at a new gymnasium where she knew nobody, making her learn how to build a new social circle alongside a new football environment.

The experience pushed her to become more open and outgoing, and she describes honesty as an important part of how she approaches other people.

Before joining FC Midtjylland, Aaquist Olsen worked full-time as a pedagogy assistant and mathematics teacher for younger schoolchildren alongside her football career.

Her decision to leave Kolding was driven partly by a desire for more playing time and a more ambitious environment, and she said the move to FC Midtjylland restored her motivation and enjoyment of football.

Aaquist Olsen joined Odense Q from FC Midtjylland in July 2026 on an agreement running through the summer of 2027.
