Avery Jean Patterson is an American professional soccer player who plays primarily as a right wingback for the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League.
She comes from a football family—her father played sprint football at the U.S. Naval Academy, and her great uncle was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
She started playing soccer at just four years old.
In high school, she won three straight state championships in soccer and also ran varsity cross country and track.
She scored four goals in one half during her debut for the U.S. U-20 national team.
She enjoyed studying Biology and Spanish.
She has a degree in Global Studies from the University of North Carolina.
She comes from Jacksonville, Florida.
