She has played in both the United States and Australia, with stints at Adelaide United and Sydney FC.

She was named NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2015, beating out Sofia Huerta and Sam Mewis.

She made her USWNT debut in 2018 against Portugal, after receiving her first call-up three years earlier.

She grew up in Freehold Township, New Jersey.

Her nickname is 'Danny'.

She dislikes country music in the locker room because it "kills the mood," but she can enjoy it on her own with headphones.

When a rookie asks her for advice, she encourages them to "just go out there and be yourself" and have fun, with an emphasis on connecting their first pass.

Danny has a messy bun that looks like it could fall out at any moment, and she sometimes wears seven or eight hair ties to keep it together during games.

She sacrifices her body during matches due to being short, often throwing herself into hard tackles and playing like a "wrecking ball," which gets a lot of attention.

She felt fueled by being told she was "too short" and now uses that as motivation to make tough plays.

After the Challenge Cup victory, when Danny went to celebrate with her mom, her mom handed her car registration instead of congratulating her, causing laughter from fans.

She uses music to get into "game mode" and also finds it calming after training.

She used to listen to hip-hop but switched to country music for its calming effect, with Zac Brown Band, Thomas Rhett, and Sam Hunt being her favorites.
