Kalyssa "Kiki" van Zanten is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League. Born in the United States, she represents Jamaica internationally.
To relax away from football, she likes to travel and go to the beach.
Her mother is Jamaican, and her father is American of Dutch descent.
Her father played college football at Illinois Wesleyan.
Both of her sisters also played college soccer, one at Case Western Reserve and the other at Florida State.
She started playing football at an early age and was first called up to the U.S. U15 national team in 2016 before later playing for the U.S. U17 team in 2017–2018.
She initially represented the United States at the junior level but switched to Jamaica in 2022.
She has always loved football and dreamed of making it big but never expected to do so by representing Jamaica.
She scored the game-winning goal in extra time to secure Jamaica’s CONCACAF bronze medal and a place in the Olympic playoffs.
Her full name is Kalyssa but she goes by 'Kiki'.
She was part of the Jamaican Women's National Team that competed in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia.
She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
She was injured for a big portion of the 2024 season.
Her partner, Kyle, is a professional baseball player.
She believes in the 'Look good, feel good' mentality and whenever she feels she isn't playing well, she will change her hairstyle, sometimes even mid-game.
