Cortnee Brooke Vine is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a winger for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League and the Australia national team.

Did You Know?

She made her professional debut at age 16 for Brisbane Roar in October 2015 and played in the A-League Women for four clubs before moving to the United States.
She joined the North Carolina Courage of the NWSL in June 2024 and scored her first goal for the club in her home debut against Kansas City.
She famously scored the winning penalty in the quarterfinal shootout against France at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, sending Australia to the semifinals.
In 2024, she was named to Australia’s squad for the Paris Olympics, her first Olympic selection.
Off the field, Vine has been studying part-time for a degree in information technology and taught herself computer coding during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before becoming a full-time pro, she worked at JD Sports and Football NSW in Western Sydney.
She has been in a relationship with fellow footballer Charlotte McLean since 2019; the two were teammates at Sydney FC and now at the North Carolina Courage.
In November 2024, Vine announced she was taking a break from football to prioritize her mental health, receiving widespread support for her decision.
Her biggest dream was always to go to a World Cup—and she had a note about it on the back of her door since she was 12 years old.
She fell out of love with football around age 19–20 and considered leaving the game before working with a sports psychologist who helped her refocus.
She prefers assisting over scoring goals: "There's something really satisfying about putting a really nice cross in."
She has a full "Vine Shrine" at home—built by her mum, who is her biggest supporter.
She's motivated by her family, girlfriend, and friends, and often plays to make others proud more than herself.
She made her World Cup debut on home soil in Australia—doubling the emotion of the experience.
Vine describes herself as a perfectionist but is learning to let go and enjoy the game more: “I think you can always strive to be good at something, but I don’t think anything’s ever perfect.”
She began playing soccer at the age of five alongside her older brother.
She starts her morning with a small oat latte.
A place she would love to visit is Machu Picchu.
Her go-to snack is Vegemite on toast, which she believes is the most Aussie thing ever.
Her favorite brunch includes poached eggs with avocado on toast.
Other than soccer, she loves athletics, especially the long jump.
Her favorite cuisine is Italian.
Her football idols include Lionel Messi and Sam Kerr.
She has received Members Player of the Year and Golden Boot at Sydney FC’s Awards Night.
She had a custom boots painted symbolizing her football journey
