Eloise Jayne “Ellie” Wilson is an English defender who has represented England at youth level (U19, U20 and U23). She plays her club football for Melbourne City FC in Australia’s Ninja A-League Women.
She’s from Reading and was born in Windsor, and says she naturally supports Reading FC.
She started playing at Reading at about eight, joined the academy at 12, and made her first-team debut at 16.
Wolves support runs strongly in her family.
Michael Owen was her football inspiration when she was first getting into the sport.
The first shirt she ever owned was the 2005/06 England shirt with “Owen 10”.
Asked for her best women’s player ever, she picked Kelly Smith, and named Lucy Bronze as her current standout.
She earned a Master's degree from Loughborough University.
