Rebekah Ashley Stott is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a defender for Melbourne City in Australia’s A-League. She also represents the New Zealand women’s national team.
Before becoming a Football Fern, she represented Australia at youth level.
She was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin’s lymphoma in February 2021.
She journaled her experience on her personal blog, “beat it. by Stotty,” to help educate and inspire other cancer patients.
Growing up, role models in New Zealand were so hard to access that she dreamed of playing international football for the USA or China.
She has played football since she was four years old.
She'd like to get into coaching after her active career and has already completed her UEFA B coaching licence.
