Karla Martínez is a Mexican proffesional footballer who plays as a defender. She represents Mexiko on international level.
Martínez was officially named the captain of Toluca Femenil ahead of the Apertura 2023 tournament. She is known for her leadership and once stated in an interview, "Being a captain is not just about the armband, it's about being the first to support your teammates."
She reached a major career milestone in August 2024 by playing her 200th professional match in Liga MX Femenil, she also has 100 caps for Toluca FC.
Before joining Toluca, she spent several years at Santos Laguna, where she also held the captain's armband.
She made her senior debut for the Mexico national team in 2023 during a friendly match against Peru.
Martínez is an alumna of the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG), where she played collegiate football before the professional league was established.
She was part of the Mexico squad that won the Gold Medal at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador.
