Katia’s story has always carried two countries: she was born in Rome, has Italian citizenship, but represented Romania at youth level.
She started football at nine as a forward and midfielder, but moved into goal partly because she never loved running — and immediately found her role.
At just 15, she was already listed among the goalkeepers in AS Roma Women’s first-ever senior squad for the 2018/19 season
She was already trusted with leadership as a teenager, captaining Romania U17 in official youth fixtures.
Her long-term dreams go beyond Italy: she has named a national-team call-up and playing in England among her biggest football ambitions.
