Marika Massimino is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender. She has represented Italy at youth and U23 level, and received her first senior Italy call-up in 2026.
Marika’s football story started in the park below her home, where she played with her younger brother while her father worked nearby and became her first supporter.
Her mother once tried to send her to dance class, but Marika lasted only half an hour before leaving in tears and refusing to go back.
Her road to Roma took real family sacrifice: from Aprilia, Marika and her father travelled around 160 kilometres a day for training.
Away from football, Marika likes cooking, Netflix and music — but billiards is the hobby she gets especially competitive about.
Her sweetest Italy youth memory came when she climbed into the stands after an U19 qualifier with flowers for her mother’s birthday.
Marika’s family support runs through her whole story — from football-filled conversations with her three brothers to her father’s early belief, her mother’s constant presence, and the emotional moment when both parents cried over her first senior Italy call-up.
