Laura Palakovics is a Hungarian footballer who plays as a defender. She represents Hungary at senior international level after previously playing for the country’s Under-17 and Under-19 teams.
Her father played football in the nearby town of Onga and was the first person to recognise her potential.
Palakovics announced herself at Puskás by scoring an extraordinary 52 goals in 18 matches during her first season with the club’s U19 side.
Her favourite festive food is Hungarian stuffed cabbage, and she has joked that she cannot promise to leave enough for the rest of the family.
Despite playing in defence, she retains an attacking mindset and particularly enjoys delivering crosses and scoring goals.
Leaving Puskás Akadémia after eight years felt like both the hardest and the most important step of her life; she wrote that entering the familiar place still made her heart beat faster.
