Did You Know?

She grew up in Stoneham, Québec, and started playing football at age four with CS Haute-Saint-Charles.

As a kid and teenager she didn’t just play football – she also spent time on basketball courts, tennis courts, golf courses and on a snowboard.

At the University of Memphis she majored in Health Studies while playing football on the university team.

Marie and her twin sister Catherine have “grown up doing everything together” and even call themselves best friends; the pair went on to play together for Memphis and later reunited as professionals with ONS Oulu in Finland.

She lists Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona among her football favourites.

She also follows basketball closely, citing Blake Griffin and NBA teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat as favourites.
