Meredith Madeline Speck is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League.
She is the only active player on the North Carolina Courage who was part of the team when it was known as the Western New York Flash.
She was raised in a soccer-focused family in Rockville Centre, New York, with both of her parents serving as coaches and her two older sisters playing college soccer.
She captained both her high school team at Sacred Heart Academy and later her college team at Yale University.
She made history by becoming the first Yale Bulldog to play in the NWSL.
After college, she took an unconventional path by signing with Swedish club Västerås BK30 before joining the NWSL.
In June 2023, she suffered a torn ACL but made a full recovery and returned to the field in May 2024, nearly a year later.
Her favorite color is orange.
When she entered the NWSL, the rookie salary was just $6,842, making her decision to go pro especially bold.
Something she can't live without are her dogs.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
