Rosemary Kathleen Lavelle is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League and the United States national team.
She started playing soccer at the age of five, following in the footsteps of her older sister, Norah.
She began serious soccer training with Neil Bradford at age 8, who predicted she’d make the U.S. Women’s National Team.
In 2003, 8-year-old Rose dressed as Mia Hamm for a third-grade book-sharing project, wearing Hamm’s No. 9 jersey, white shorts, and a gold medal around her neck.
She has an adorable bulldog named Wilma Jean Wrinkles.
She was drafted #1 overall in the 2017 NWSL College Draft by Boston Breakers.
She featured on the June 2023 cover of Sports Illustrated with teammates Alex Morgan, Trinity Rodman, and Sophia Smith.
She became the 43rd woman to earn 100 caps for the U.S. Women’s National Team on June 4, 2024.
Her favorite color is green, a preference she only recently realized.
Her favorite subject in school growing up was gym.
She likes to read fantasy books and was recently converted to using a Kindle and appreciates its convenience, portability, and how it helps her fall asleep.

She studied Sociology at the University of Wisconsin.
