The international break is slowly coming to an end, Spain has dominated the Nations League, and players are returning to their clubs.

Spain are Nations League champions

After a goalless draw in Germany, the Nations League final remained a thrilling surprise. Germany had something to prove against Spain – it was Aitana Bonmatí's goal at Euro 2025 that knocked Germany out in the semifinals.

However, the scorer of the only goal in the Euro final was unable to play, as Bonmatí will be out for a few weeks due to injury – but her teammates remembered her before the match and subsequently dedicated their victory to her. Spain won 3-0 after two goals from Claudia Pina and one from 19-year-old Vicky López.

We know where Euro 2029 will be held

Euro 2029 will be held in Germany. The decision was made on Wednesday. This will not be the first time for Germany – it hosted the Women's Euro in 1995 and 2011, but women's football has grown significantly since then. Poland and a joint bid from Denmark and Sweden were also in the running.

The unstoppable Miedema

Teams that did not compete in the Nations League spent the international break playing friendly matches. And it was in the match between the Netherlands and South Korea that Vivianne Miedema scored a spectacular goal. She is not even thirty years old yet, she was considering ending her international career, and she has already scored 104 international goals - none of them from penalties. She scored her 100th goal at Euro against Wales, and added another four just now. And it only took her 38 minutes to do so.

Arsenal's big comebacks and losses

Two pieces of good news and two pieces of bad news for Arsenal and especially its fans. Their beloved captain and vice captain, Kim Little and Leah Williamson, are back in squad. Williamson remained on the bench for Saturday's game, however captain Little finally got her welcome. Both were able to celebrate their return with a home win and three points.

However, fans should be concerned about the absence of first-choice goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar, who is out for the whole of December due to a knee injury. With traditional second-choice Zinsberger suffering from a torn ACL, it was clear that summer signing Anneke Borbe would make her debut. Arsenal will also be without offensive stalwart and crowd favorite Chloe Kelly due to a knee injury.

Arsenal handled this unusual situation on their home ground, defeating Liverpool 2-1 thanks to goals from Olivia Smith and Stina Blackstenius. For summer signing Smith, it was a goal against her former club.
