Swap deal between City and United done

The last day of the transfer window saw a rather spicy trade between city rivals.

  • Manchester United Women announced the signing of Jess Park from Manchester City on a four-year deal in trade for Grace Clinton.
  • Clinton had just one year remaining on her contract with United. The club accepted City’s bid—reluctantly—to prevent losing her for free next summer, a fate they’ve experienced with past stars - like Alessia Russo, who came as free agent to Arsenal.
  • Park scored five goals and recorded one assist in 21 WSL appearances last season, and has earned 20 England caps, including being part of the Euro 2025-winning squad. Clinton scored eight goals in 21 appearences.
  • Manchester United Women are set to launch their WSL season at home against Leicester City this coming Sunday (September 7), Clinton is expected to make her first appearance for Manchester City as soon as Friday, when they face Chelsea (September 5).
