Inès Jaurena is a French midfielder for FC Fleury 91 in France’s top flight, the Première Ligue Arkema, after more than a decade at the highest levels of women’s football in France, the United States and Europe. She has represented France across every age group from U17 to the senior national team.
Her family background is a blend of Martiniquais and Basque heritage.
She crossed the Atlantic to study and play at Florida State University, majoring in international affairs because she wanted to learn English, earn a degree and keep playing at a high level.
She completed a journalism program designed for elite athletes at INSEP (French sport boarding school and training institute).
Alongside playing, she worked in communications for Paris FC, helping club media officer with videos, match reactions, previews and fun player portraits, and even interviewing her own teammates on camera.
She’s already dipped a toe into TV commentary: while at Bordeaux she joined Eurosport as a consultant for a Coupe de France.
Her favorite player growing up was Zidane.
