Laurie Cance is a French midfielder who plays for FC Fleury 91 in the French Première Ligue after long spells with Rodez AF and Le Havre AC. She is a former France youth international.

Did You Know?

She grew up in a football-mad family in Decazeville: her father, mother and brothers all played, and she spent her weekends on the touchline watching them.

She signed her first license at JS Bassin Aveyron in her hometown at six years old, playing in mixed teams.

For years at Rodez she combined elite football with a full-time job, working on a permanent contract for the city of Rodez as an animator in a community center while playing in D1 and D2.

She cites Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Zinedine Zidane as inspirations for her style as an attacking midfielder, especially their creativity between the lines.

As a kid she flat-out refused to try other sports like judo or gymnastics when her mum suggested them, saying for her it was football or nothing.

She finished a French high-school diploma focused on health and social sciences, then went on to earn a university degree in sports science in Rodez.
