Jacqueline Baumgärtel

In January 2025, she signed with 1. FC Nürnberg, helping them achieve promotion to the Bundesliga the same year.

Jacqueline has a daily ritual where she writes down and repeats her personal “ten commandments” every morning, which helps her stay focused throughout the day and before matches.

She takes five minutes each morning to reflect and set her mindset before starting her day.

She made her senior debut in 2019 with TSV Jahn Calden in the Regionalliga Süd.

She describes herself as rather reserved and shy — in the past she “could hardly get a word out.”

She advocates that girls should play with boys as long as possible, because it builds physical toughness and resilience.

She started playing football at the age of four at TSG Sandershausen — her father was her first coach.

Her mother used to be a goalkeeper, and her older brother Pascal also played football.

Alongside football, she was training as an office management clerk.

She also completed a voluntary social year at a special school for children with disabilities — something she calls a “fantastic experience” and recommends to everyone.
