Sanja Homann is a German footballer who plays as a midfielder for Frauen Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg.
She started her youth career at SC Freiburg, progressing through the ranks to their senior team.
She also played futsal when she was younger.
At just 17 years old, Sanja moved up to SC Freiburg’s second team and played her first senior season.
She spent four years in the United States at the University of Central Florida, earning her bachelor’s degree while playing four seasons of college football.
The COVID-19 pandemic paused her U.S. season in 2020, leading her to return to Germany, where she played again for SC Freiburg II before resuming her studies in the U.S. in 2021.
Her matches in Florida were played “under palm trees,” something she describes as a special memory.
