Kaîna El Koumir is a Moroccan forward who has developed quickly through the French club pathway. She plays for RC Lens in France’s Arkema Première Ligue and represents Morocco at U20 level.
She was born in Valenciennes, France.
She initially didn’t like football before her father encouraged her to start playing at age seven.
Her first call-up to the Moroccan national team came in November 2023, fulfilling a childhood dream.
She cried with joy while watching Morocco knock Spain out on penalties at the 2022 men’s World Cup.
She describes herself as naturally shy and reserved, and said the first Morocco call-up pushed her out of her comfort zone.
